Coffee Date Friday - 5 Beauty Must-Haves

I was so excited when I found out today's prompt last week. I have always loved makeup and beauty products. I started learning how to apply makeup around age 12. I was performing with my ballet schools' company and my mom wasn't always there to help me out. So I had to learn to do stage makeup on my own with some help from friends and some of the older girls.

I also remember when Walmart sold Jane Cosmetics. They had these little pamphlets with makeup tips. I actually learned a lot from those!

My makeup/beauty routine also became really important after I had my children. Our gym had childcare and I would workout daily and save some time to shower and get myself together. Having that time to spend on myself as a "woman" not a "mommy" was so important.

I keep a similar routine today. I definitely don't think you HAVE to wear makeup to be beautiful, but there is something to be said for a routine that makes you feel like a woman again and not someone who might have syrup on her shirt or spit-up in her hair.

One of the focuses of my blog is beauty because I feel it is important for women/moms to feel gorgeous no matter what stage of life they are in. Particularly in the infant/toddler/preschool stages of our child's lives when they depend on us so much for everything.

Sooo...all that to say, stay lovely and here are my beauty must-haves :)

  1. Popping in from Coffee Date. I am so checking out that eyebrow powder. I am so fearful of eyebrow products, but I know I have to just jump in and try it because you're right...they totally finish off the look and make your eyes stand out.

    1. I forgot to mention in the vlog that the little brush it comes with stinks, so I recommend using your own small angled brush for it. The little spool brush works pretty good. Don't be afraid if you feel like your brows look super obvious. It does take some time to get used to your brows being a little darker :)

  2. I have recently discovered e.l.f.. High def finishing power, its a super fine translucent powder that softens all flaws and makes makeup look just applies for hours. Its very similar to bare minerals mineral veil but only $6 for a huge container. I just started doing my brows too. I have very little brows, courtesy of genetics. At first it looked weird to me to have brows but new I look weird it I don't.

    1. I love elf products so I will have to look for that as I am actually in the market for powder. When I started doing my eyebrows it seemed like A LOT. now I feel naked without my eyebrows done. Thanks for stopping by!
